In India 1 out of 2 women in rural India walk 173 km/year to get water, 140 million people don’t have access to clean water. Hence we felt it was important to talk to people and express how it is a necessity that needs to be used with due diligence. For our first campaign for World Water Day in 2015 with a video we reached out to people with an appeal that ‘Every Drop Counts’. We launched a Microsite and reached out to home owners to reduce water usage via a pledge on this site. Appeals were sent out across social media with hard-hitting facts about water, to encourage people to save this resource. Every pledge received on the microsite was translated into virtual water. And the 13,000 liters of water that was totally collected was donated by Finolex Pipes to the drought-struck region of Latur.
Over the years Finolex Pipes has continued its World Water Day initiatives to raise awareness on water conservation with heart-warming and interacting content.
